The Chinese film industry has gone from very closed off and exclusive to knocking on Hollywood’s door as they continue to invest in major international projects and American talent....

Marvel’s Stan Lee actually makes an unexpected cameo in DC Entertainment’s Teen Titans Go! To The Movies. The world premiere of the animated film was on Friday night at SDCC 2018, and viewers were delighted at the unexpected cameo. Stan Lee cameos have become a hallmark of Marvel movies. The tradition runs back to the original comics, where Lee would frequently be drawn into panels by artists as a bit of a joke....

Superhero costume masks in movies and television have always had the actor wear black makeup around their eyes, a wardrobe element rarely acknowledged, much less addressed, within the world of the story, but that looks to be changing with Titans. The upcoming new show offers a dark and edgy variation on the Teen Titans, including classic DC characters like Robin, Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy. In Titans, Robin sports black face paint around his mask like many costumed heroes before him — but the faded and smudged look of the black around his eyes makes it seem like the angry Titan has applied it himself....

Dead by Daylight is among the survival & horror mission genre’s popular multiplayer online games. Deadpool 2 is far more ambitious than the first film, elevating the action, humor and overall scope for an even more fun experience in the sequel. The rumored Deadpool animated series may soon be hitting the small screen, as Rob Liefeld has confirmed on Twitter that a Deadpool cartoon is coming. Deadpool has made several cameos in the animated series of other Marvel characters in the past, dating all the way back to the X-Men cartoon of the 1990s. The rising popularity of the character following the first Deadpool movie led to Marvel greenlighting a Deadpool animated series that would have aired on FXX....

Voice actor Jerry O’Connell, who plays the role of Superman in the upcoming animated project The Death of Superman says that the movie has a “scary good” version of Doomsday. While not elaborating on precisely why that is so, O’Connell’s comments may hint at some big changes to the infamous villain, in this animated adaptation of the classic comic book storyline. Released in 1992 to high praise and huge sales, the original The Death of Superman would become one of the most influential comic books of what is commonly known today as The Dark Age of Comics....

“After countless mockups featuring flashlights, adhesives, suction cups, and magnets later, Concept Pari was created,” Dell Technologies client solutions group CTO Glen Robson said in a blog post. “It can be placed directly – anywhere – on compatible displays, in a charging dock, on a stand, or even held in the hand.” Dell did not expand on the compatible monitors, but presumably it would involve magnetic backings. The company also showed off the camera being attached to a metallic arm to allow viewing of objects from above....

And, since the film version of the Merc with a Mouth seems to be coming up aces, it seems that Fox’s announcement was anything but premature....

Deadpool 2 director David Leitch has some things to say about his film’s opening weekend outgrossing Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story’s domestic opening. Leitch didn’t seem all that surprised by his film’s box office numbers. After taking over the series from Tim Miller, he and star Ryan Reynolds went all-in with the sequel. While Deadpool 2 hit theaters two weeks before Solo: A Star Wars Story, the two blockbusters have been in a kind of indirect competition with one another, especially since no other film dared to open the same weekend as a Star Wars movie....

With the huge box office success of Deadpool, buzz about the already-developing sequel is in full effect. So far all that is known for sure about the sequel is that it will feature the big-screen debut of fellow Rob Liefeld creation Cable, and that it will likely be one of a growing number of R-rated comic book movies to come, but beyond that fans can only guess about what the plot will involve....

HBO has released the first teaser trailer for Deadwood: The Movie. David Milch’s original western TV series may not have been quite as popular as other HBO offerings during the 2000s (namely, The Sopranos), but it’s now considered one of the network’s all-time great creative achievements. Known for its profanity-laced yet poetic dialogue and dirt-soaked vision of the Old West, the Deadwood TV show also featured an all-star cast of character actors who’ve gone on to headline other hit series, including Ian McShane (American Gods) and Timothy Olyphant (Justified, Santa Clarita Diet)....

It left a big void in Destiny 2’s universe when Bungie killed off Cayde-6 for the Forsaken expansion - one that wasn’t filled until Season of Dawn’s Saint-14. A legendary character in Destiny 2’s lore, Saint-14 also turned out to be both kind-hearted and charming enough to fill the Cayde’s role. He’s now Destiny 2’s best character, but fans are worried he’ll be gone soon. Originally portrayed by Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Castle), Cayde-6 was the Destiny series’ most likable character by far, with well-delivered, genuinely funny dialogue....

Warner Bros. has moved its animated DC Super Pets back a year from 2021 to 2022. Following the combined success of Aquaman and Shazam!, the DC movie franchise appears to have found it groove by moving away from Marvel Studios’ shared universe model, in favor of a looser sense of continuity. And while WB currently has new Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Batman films in the pipeline, its revised approach has also allowed room for movies based on lesser-known and more esoteric comic book superheroes....

In a recent appearance, Ray Fisher discussed his version of Justice League’s Cyborg, calling it “different” from his animated counterpart. The character made its debut in the DC Extended Universe with a brief cameo in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Fisher is also on track to star in his own Cyborg solo vehicle in 2020, in addition to a supporting role in The Flash’s own big-screen spinoff Flashpoint. Cyborg, also known by his real name Victor “Vic” Stone, has long been a popular character in the Teen Titans comics, and has long been voiced by Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) in the Teen Titans animated series....

The campaign for the release of the ‘Snyder Cut’ version of Justice League has gained a new, vocal supporter: Jerry Ordway. As a writer and an artist, Ordway has worked extensively within the world of DC over the decades. Most notably, he served as a co-writer on ‘The Death of Superman’, from which Justice League borrowed many elements, including Doomsday and, well, the death of Superman. The whole surprising, then-unprecedented idea of killing off the Man of Steel actually originated with Ordway, who repeatedly suggested that they kill Superman in the wake of declining sales and fans’ taking the Kryptonian hero’s seeming invincibility for granted....
