We learned yesterday from patent trial evidence that Samsung was worried about running ads that directly attacked Apple, wanting Google to do it for them. We now know that it was the death of Steve Jobs which prompted Samsung’s change of mind, running the Next Big Thing ads which directly mocked Apple customers. An email trail shows that Samsung America’s VP of U.S. sales Mike Pennington cynically described the death of Jobs as “the best opportunity” to run the campaign, as consumers might be worried about Apple’s future product innovations following the death of its famous co-founder....

Following the expansion of her role to include retail, Deirdre O’Brien has been awarded two new sets of restricted stock grants from Apple. DC Comics has announced that the company will be shuttering its long-running Vertigo imprint. More recent imprints, DC Zoom and DC Ink, will be ending as well. Founded in 1993, Vertigo was created so that DC could publish more adult stories that wouldn’t be bound by the constraints of the Comics Code Authority. Since then, the imprint has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed titles not just in DC Comics, but for the medium in general....

A new poster for Doom Patrol reveals a laughably weird team of superheroes. Along with Titans, the group was announced to be getting their own DC Universe series in the spring of 2018.
