Make no mistake, there’s a tremendous amount of expectation from the Justice League film. Fans want to love this film. Fans are protective of these characters and their universes, which means that they’ll have strong expectations about who should or shouldn’t be in the movie. It can be a daunting task for any studio willing to make a movie featuring characters with more than 70 years of comic book history behind them....

The Birds of Prey movie is reportedly targeting an early 2019 start date, possibly making it the next DC movie to film after Wonder Woman 1984. Warner Bros. has been slowly developing its shared cinematic universe of DC Comics heroes ever since Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel debuted in 2013. The universe greatly expanded in 2016 with the releases of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. But, despite these films being financially successful enough, they were divisive....

The creative team behind DC’s streaming series, Doom Patrol, is eyeing Kelsey Grammer for the lead role. The series will follow the DC streaming services’ premiere series, Titans, which is expected to premiere later this year. While no one has been cast yet, it seems that Grammer is being courted for the show’s lead. The DC streaming service has already ordered multiple TV shows to series - some based on iconic characters and teams from the comics and another a revival of a fan-favorite animated series - despite having not launched....

Coming from the high of debuting its first proper trailer which everyone loved, Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin will soon be back on set for some Deadpool 2 reshoots in Vancouver. Directed by David Leitch, who picked up the mantle from Tim Miller, the Fox project will see the return of some of the familiar characters, as well as the introduction of brand new ones, and promises a bigger spectacle for the fourth wall-breaking mutant’s second solo outing....

Behind-closed-doors Death Stranding trailer footage shown at Gamescom 2019 has been leaked, and it reveals details about the game’s story that previously had the gaming community scratching its head. The previous, publicly released Death Stranding Gamescom footage, meanwhile, raised more questions than answers. Since the game’s reveal, details about what exactly Death Stranding is about have been scarce. It didn’t help when creator Hideo Kojima gave fans a strange definition of Death Stranding, categorizing it under an entirely unique genre he called “action game/strand game(social strand system)....

Hideo Kojima has revealed that Kojima Productions’ upcoming PS4 exclusive Death Stranding will have a Very Easy Mode for “movie fans.” Death Stranding is a very different game when compared to Kojima’s other work, the most notable of which is the Metal Gear Solid series - a more hardcore stealth-action series with sprinkles of political drama and satire found throughout. Death Stranding is described by Kojima himself as an entirely new genre in video games that he calls “action game/strand game....

There have been quite a few great Elseworlds stories from DC Comics over the years. Gotham by Gaslight, Kingdom Come and Superman: Red Son are among the best of the bunch. However, not every Elseworlds story was received positively. Case and point: JLA: Act of God - a comic so bizarre, it’s hard to explain. In 2001, Doug Moench and Dave Ross wrote and illustrated a very unique Elseworlds story. JLA: Act of God told the tale of what would happen if superheroes were suddenly depowered....

The latest set photo from DC’s Titans TV show has revealed the Bat signal. It’s increasingly clear that the upcoming series will be heavily influenced by the Batman mythos. Set to air on the upcoming DC Universe streaming service, Titans is a live-action series starring Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy. The plot is still under wraps, although a range of secondary characters have been confirmed, including Curran Walters as Jason Todd, Hawk and Dove (with an eye for the duo getting a spinoff), and even reportedly Wonder Girl....

The creator of Deadpool, Rob Liefeld, has shown fans one of his most prized possessions - a framed sword, signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, from the Conan the Barbarian film. Liefeld has been a prolific comic book writer and creator since the 1980’s, with his work appearing in both DC and Marvel issues before he helped to co-found Image Comics along with other iconic comic book personalities like Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane....

DC Universe’s Harley Quinn presents a perfect parody of Tom Hardy’s performance as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. While the new animated series offering a twisted take on one DC Comics’ most popular villains is not surprising after the hilarious first episode, this is the first time the show has taken aim at a particular portrayal. Created by editor Dennis O’Neil, artist Graham Nolan and writers Chuck Dixon & Doug Moench in 1993, Bane made a big splash when he was first introduced into the Batman mythology....

Following the theatrical release of director Tim Miller’s stunning box office success from earlier this year, Deadpool has gone on to become the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time, having earned well over $700 million globally thus far, marking it as a higher domestic earner than its competing Marvel associated bedfellows Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy. In the wake of its well neigh unprecedented success with general audiences thus far, Miller’s film is set to reach DVD/Blu-ray this May, coming replete with an Unrated cut and a bonus after credit sequence originally planned for the production’s initial release....

It’s become quite well known how hard star Ryan Reynolds had to push to get 20th Century Fox to make a standalone Deadpool film, much less make it an R-rated one. Considering how amazingly successful Deadpool ultimately ended up being at the box office though - earning over $750 million worldwide on a $58 million budget - it’s likely that more than a few Fox executives are continually berating themselves for waiting so long to give it the greenlight....

Teri Hatcher is currently starring as Morticia Adams in a production of The Addams Family, according to Playbill. This is a very different role from Hatcher’s Desperate Housewives sweet mother and artist Susan Mayer, who lives on idyllic yet creepy Wisteria Lane with her best friends. The show did a great job proving that life in suburbia is not always perfect, and everyone has secrets that they don’t wish to share with those close to them....

Game developer Bungie has had something of a rocky ride with the first installment of the new Destiny franchise was released in 2014 to a mixed reception. The online-only first person shooter is set in a mythic science fiction world, and it broke records on the day of release to become the biggest new franchise launch of all time. After selling over $500 million at launch, Destiny went on to win the BAFTA Award for Best Game of 2014....

DC has rolled out a big update for its DC Universe streaming service, adding over 21,000 comics for subscribers’ reading pleasure. The service is now a big competitor for Marvel Unlimited, as Unlimited only features comics while DC has both comics and original shows. Although it may feel like DC Universe just launched, the streaming service has been available since September of last year. Content is expanding, and what’s already there has been liked by fans....

These days a major superhero studio or franchise knows that keeping plans under wraps is always the smartest course forward (the sooner the fans know anything, the quicker things can spin out of control… or favor). But then, Deadpool is no ordinary franchise. The first film ended with not just a tease, but a promise that Deadpool 2 would be adding Cable to the mix, long before the time-traveling, techno-organic virus infected powerhouse was cast....
