A single comment on social media has led fans to wonder if Spider-Man might be appearing in the Netflix’s Marvel universe via The Defenders. This fall, the streaming service is bringing together its four Marvel series (Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist) for their long-awaited Defenders series, which means that they are in full promo swing right now. They’ve each appeared on their own SFX magazine cover already this week, and fans are looking forward to seeing what Marvel has in store for them at SDCC as well....

Twentieth Century Fox continues to enjoy the fruits of last year’s Deadpool, which has emerged as an unlikely awards contender, but the studio is beginning to turn their attention to Deadpool 2. After hitting some speed bumps in the early going (original director Tim Miller stepped down), the project is back on track with John Wick co-helmer David Leitch calling the shots. Before filming begins this summer, the top priority for the creative team is finding the right actor to play Cable, the time traveling mutant who will team up with Deadpool in the sequel....

Proving once and for all that no matter how many crude jokes get deleted from a Deadpool movie, film will never be able to match the sheer squeamish glory of a a cosmic conqueror covering the planet in puke. Deezer Music, the music streaming service with around six million subscribers, is today launching support for Apple’s CarPlay platform. The service has both free, ad-supported and paid plans, but the CarPlay feature will be limited to its Premium+ and Elite subscribers. Premium+ is the company’s paid monthly plan that removes advertising and adds a few features, while Elite is an upgraded plan with high definition audio available only to Sonos users currently....

The demand for iPhone 14 series in the Chinese market could be stronger than the iPhone models from the viewpoints of distributors and retailers, according to a new post by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In a thread on Twitter, Kuo says that his latest survey “indicates that some Chinese distributors/retailers/scalpers have to pay the highest prepaid deposit ever for iPhone 14 to ensure a sufficient supply, implying the iPhone 14 demand in the Chinese market will likely be higher than expected....

Defense Grid 2, a tower-defense game first released in 2014, has now landed on the Nintendo Switch, and the result is of mixed quality. It’s easy to recommend the game at its $19.99 price point - its multiplayer features, numerous levels, and challenge modes ensure plenty of replayability, and its core gameplay is quite enjoyable. Plus, the game also includes the DG2: Aftermath expansion, which was previously exclusive to VR versions of the title....

Figures released today by Gartner show that the iPad remained the best-selling tablet of 2013, selling more than the combined sales of the four runners-up. Apple’s tablets remain strong in the higher end of the market and, Apple’s approach will continue to force vendors to compete with full ecosystem offerings, even in the smaller-screen market as the iPad mini sees a greater share … Gartner’s headline – and doubtless that of many reports to follow later today – focused on market share....

Pandora has been reevaluating its strategy as it faces increased competition from streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music, launching its own streaming service earlier this year. Now, a report from Bloomberg claims that as the company continues to invest in streaming, it is looking to offload its Ticketfly business… Pandora acquired Ticketfly two years ago for $335 million with the goal of increasing ticket sales thanks to the listener data it collects from users....

The CW’s Arrowverse has grown considerably since Arrow launched six years ago, but some corners of the DC Universe still seem to be off limits. Like some other major blockbuster movies in recent years, Deadpool 2 received an extended cut on home video, which includes a host of alternate, extended, and deleted scenes that weren’t in the theatrical version. In this particular case, and in keeping with the character’s unique comedy style, the Deadpool 2 extended version is called the Super Duper $@%!#& Cut (or just the Super Duper Cut), and it contains an additional 15 minutes of unseen footage, much of which is devoted to elaborating on dialogue, providing backstory for certain characters, and deepening the relationship between the main superheroes....

Just when it seemed like Hollywood would never allow a faithful, fourth wall-breaking, R-rated Deadpool movie to get made, Ryan Reynolds got one into production. KGI’s Mingchi Kuo has suggested in a note to investors that the mystery of the apparent delay in the iPhone launching on the world’s largest carrier, China Mobile, may be due to last-minute renegotiations with Apple on volume discounts across the two new models. The implication here appears to be that China Mobile agreed separate volume breaks with Apple for both iPhone 5c and 5s, expecting demand for the 5c to be significantly higher....
