Like the comic book it’s based on, SYFY’s Deadly Class TV series bears the hallmarks of a number of influences, and as such is a fascinating grab-bag that’s unlike any other comic book show on television right now. Executive produced by Joe and Anthony Russo (otherwise known as the guys who helped Thanos kill half the universe in Avengers: Infinity War), with Remender himself serving as co-showrunner along with Miles Orion Feldsott, the series aims to be an ultra-faithful adaptation of the comic book, and one that has a killer soundtrack to boot....

Hideo Kojima says that although his upcoming Death Stranding contains some A-List talent, the game isn’t trying to legitimize through the use of big-name actors. With the likes of Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and Léa Seydoux all lending their likeness to the ambitious PlayStation exclusive, Kojima promises it isn’t an easy way to sell more copies. Despite an extensive E3 presentation where Death Stranding showed off its gameplay, fans are still no closer to understanding what is going on in the game....

There’s not long left until The Defenders premieres on Netflix, and if there wasn’t already enough hype around the new series the streaming service has released a new clip. Posted on Twitter, the short video from episode 1 focuses on Daredevil and it makes it very clear that the vigilante still suffers from Catholic guilt as much as ever. Charlie Cox appears in a confession booth, as Matt Murdoch wearing his attorney-at-law uniform, and it sounds like he’s still very much conflicted by his former life and the loss of Elektra - who sacrificed her life for his at the end of Daredevil season two....

STX has delayed the release date for its Dave Bautista-headlined action-comedy My Spy a second time, pushing it back from January to March 2020. Having made the transition from professional wrestler to big screen star, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor is currently in the process of expanding his portfolio of work. And though he’s mostly stuck to action films so far, Bautista proved he has the chops to be a serious dramatic actor with his performance in Blade Runner 2049, and will appear in director Denis Villeneuve’s Dune around this time in 2020....

One thing is true of every teen drama: the characters are going to behave badly and make some mistakes along the way. And on Dawson’s Creek, the TV series which aired for six seasons, that is definitely the case. Both the high schoolers and adults on this show have done the wrong thing and hurt the people that they care about, but these moments have also served as lessons (which tends to be typical of this TV genre)....

The upcoming mini-series DCeased will place DC Comics’ greatest heroes in a zombie apocalypse situation akin to The Walking Dead and test the heroic codes of the World’s Finest heroes like never before. The Elseworlds tale will answer the question: how can heroes fight to save the world… when it’s already doomed? The concept of DCeased may sound like old hat to many comics fans. Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, spun a similar story in 2005’s Marvel Zombies, which saw an alternate version of the Marvel Comics universe destroyed by a zombie plague that turned its heroes into flesh-eating monsters....

While Logan continues to win over audiences and critics and earn Fox a considerable amount at the box office, the inclusion of a Deadpool sequel teaser featuring Ryan Reynolds ahead of the film has left many fans equally excited to talk about Deadpool 2. The teaser was a fun reminder of what made the first movie so great and even packed in a number of Easter eggs for fans. What’s more, it reminded everyone that Cable will be joining Deadpool in the new movie....

Warner Bros.’ Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been a divisive movie, though its $785+ million global box office shows that it’s still performing decently in spite of the critics. Though it wasn’t the billion-dollar hit in theaters that the studio likely hoped it would be, its performance has been solid enough that the rest of the DC Extended Universe is still moving forward as planned. One of the big upcoming parts of the DCEU are the two planned Justice League films, the first of which was scheduled to begin filming this week....

One of the most highly anticipated comic book movies of next year is going to be Deadpool 2, the follow up to the smash hit that was 2016’s Deadpool. The sequel to Deadpool will see Ryan Reynolds back in the spotlight as the Merc with a Mouth, alongside two new mutants from the X-Men universe: Cable and Domino. We don’t currently have confirmation on the casting for these roles, but the rumor mill has been busy as usual, and the frontrunners are Pierce Brosnan as Cable, and Kerry Washington as Domino....

Update: The Deadpool 2 writers want Peter to get his own X-Force spinoff. Deadpool 2’s final trailer quickly made a star of unlikely team member Peter, the man who just showed up. This fan poster immortalizes him. While Avengers: Infinity War is pretty clearly the most anticipated theatrical release of 2018 for most moviegoers, not far behind on that list is Deadpool 2, the sequel to 2016’s smash hit R-rated film starring the Merc with a Mouth....

Titans is definitely a slow-burn series, in that we’re five episodes in before a traditional Teen Titans training montage in which the heroes learn one another’s powers....

Ryan Reynolds confirms Deadpool 3 is currently in development at Marvel Studios. As Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox became official earlier this year, it was said the Merc With a Mouth would be the only X-Men character who wouldn’t be rebooted at the Mouse House. That train of thought made a great deal of sense, considering how successful the first two Deadpool films were. Despite their R-rating, they’re the highest-grossing X-Men films of all-time, collectively earning approximately $1....

Part of what made Deadpool a huge box office success was just how loaded it is with jokes, gags, references, and fourth wall breaking. It’s the kind of movie where if you blink, you’re likely to miss a joke, and there is no reason to think that the Blu-ray release will be any different. While there have not yet been many details revealed about the home video release, it would be surprising if Fox didn’t take advantage of Blu-ray by offering tongue-in-cheek takes on the features the format traditionally offers - such as outtakes, deleted scenes, and audio commentaries....
