DC’s Black Label has brought some more mature books to the market. Numerous critically acclaimed books have been published under the new imprint. However, if there’s been one persisting issue with the line is the numerous release delays - but DC promises that won’t be an issue going forward. DC’s mature reader’s imprint launched its first book, Batman: Damned, in September 2018. The controversial book was delayed so many times it took over six months to release three issues....

DC’s Event Leviathan left the DC Universe’s political structures in shambles. The Leviathan organization systematically destroyed the world’s major spy agencies in a handful of masterstrokes, with every revelation creating more questions. There’s one thing we can say about Justice League: no matter how Zack Snyder brings Superman back to life, it’s going to be a scene that’s hard to forget. Not only for the visual spectacle of Superman’s resurrection, but because to this point, fans of the DCEU haven’t really seen the superhero they were expecting to (but not for the reason some disappointed viewers might think). DC’s long gestating The Flash movie has often been rumored to be an adaptation of the iconic Flashpoint comic book story line, and while it appears that is still the case, it won’t be following the comic too closely. The project has already seen a litany of directors attached to it come and go, leaving some fans fearing if The Flash would ever actually see the light of day. But with a 2022 release date confirmed and It and It: Chapter 2 director Andrés Muschietti still committed to the picture, things seem back on track for the superhero blockbuster....

DC’s Swamp Thing has reportedly cast RJ Cyler in an as-yet-undisclosed, guest-starring role in its first season. Cyler has numerous credits to his name, including Me and Earl and The Dying Girl and Black Lightning. However, he is probably best known for his role as the Blue Ranger in the recent big-screen Power Rangers reboot. Going officially into production back in November, Swamp Thing will join Titans and its quirkier sister series Doom Patrol on DC’s streaming service....

What has unofficially come to be known as the DC Extended Universe turns five this year (in terms of number of films released, at least) with the release of Justice League. The film brings together the likes of Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Superman in an epic live-action crossover event four years in the making. Deadpool is finally making Captain America pay for Marvel’s Secret Empire event. Deadwood: The Movie has arrived almost 13 years after HBO’s underappreciated show last aired. For all intents and purposes, the movie was a fitting end to David Milch’s series. Bringing together nearly the entire original cast the film sees what happens in the town of Deadwood 10 years after the season 3 finale. Unfortunately cut short in it’s prime, the show is a precursor to all of the best shows on television right now like the equally Shakespearian Game of Thrones or in the ensemble cast of The Walking Dead....

Sony has unveiled a new limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro console that will come bundled with Death Stranding, and it looks just as weird as the game does.
