The PC release of Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding will release in June and also feature some bonus Half-Life content, including headcrabs. Death Stranding initially released in November 2019 for the PlayStation 4. A month earlier, though, 505 games announced that it would publish the title for PC, meaning that the game wasn’t a PS4 exclusive as most initially believed.

Regardless, PlayStation 4 players got their hands on the game first, allowing them to get to know Sam Porter Bridges, a man living in a dystopian world where the barriers between the living and the dead are thin. The only way Sam can survive is by doing what he does best: delivering packages to various stations across the world. Death Stranding received mostly positive reviews, with many critics agreeing that Kojima had created an ambitious game that defied genre and took players entirely outside of the box.

Soon, a whole new group of players will have access to this world dreamed up by Kojima Productions. 505 Games tweeted that the PC release date of Death Stranding is June 2, 2020, and that the game will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. The PC version, though, will include some new bonus content featuring the much-loved Half-Life. Most notably, players will be able to dress up Sam so that he’s sporting the iconic headcrab.

The tweet also featured a new trailer showing off the PC version of the game, along with what that new content will look like. Sam will also have access to other cosmetic Half-Life objects, including Gordon Freeman’s glasses, the valve from Valve’s logo and Alyx Vance’s gloves from the upcoming Half-Life: Alyx, the upcoming VR title and the first new entry in the franchise since 2007. The PC version of Death Stranding will also feature a new photo mode, high frame rate and support for ultra-wide monitors.

One might say that there has been a resurgence in gamers’ interest in Half-Life, although most would argue that interest in the franchise has never died out. Players continue to clamor for Half-Life 3, which Valve continues to tease, although the company has made no official announcements about it. For now, though, Half-Life: Alyx will have to please gamers, and perhaps it will move some VR units along the way. Now, Death Stranding’s PC version will also get to have some fun with the Half-Life franchise.
