Deadpool is quickly becoming the Marvel/Fox movie to watch out for next year. Starting with its first official trailer, the first stand-alone feature to star the Merc With A Mouth has proven itself to be in tune with the off-beat comic nature of the property. The film’s recent string of holiday-themed promotional adverts have further established the inherent irreverence of the titular character on the big screen, ahead of the movie’s release.

Already, in previously released teaser trailers and character one-sheets alike, actor Ryan Reynolds has gotten into the holiday spirit in character for a spirited twelve days of Christmas celebration, which will all lead up to the premiere of the second official trailer for the new film on Christmas Day. The latest teaser has now been released online, offering even more yuletide fun.

In the video featured above, Reynolds and co-star T.J. Miller are featured in a festively decorated winter abode, with the teaser’s promotional nod to ESPN’s holiday NBA programming line-up featured in verse and onscreen. With a wink and a nod to knowing fans, the latest teaser lets it be known that those who tune in to ESPN on the twenty-fifth will be treated to a sneak peak of the latest full-length trailer for Deadpool, all the while taking care to promote the programming otherwise provided by the sports cable network.

There is plenty of fun to be had in following the witty exchange between Reynolds and Miller here, and if more of that especial comic chemistry is to be expected when their film sees release early next year, than fans are sure to be in for a real treat. Little is divulged about the exact content of the forthcoming footage from the new film, though the incentive is there to watch for anyone interested in seeing more likeminded humor and superhero fare.

Following the debacle that was the ill-fated X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009, Reynolds seems to better understand the Deadpool character, and is moving forward full steam ahead with this new film. Come February 2016, fans can expect a more fully realized take on the Deadpool character and the X-Men Universe - and can have themselves a merry little Deadpool Christmas in the meantime.

Deadpool will see theatrical release on February 12th, 2016, followed by X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27th, 2016; Gambit sometime in 2017; Wolverine 3 on March 3rd, 2017; and an untitled X-Men film on July 13th, 2018. The New Mutants is also in development.
