Twentieth Century Fox’s mutant movie universe has been around since Bryan Singer’s X-Men hit theaters in 2000. Over the past 17 years, Singer’s film launched a trilogy that was followed up by a spinoff starring Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, then a prequel series kicked off in X-Men: First Class. Last year, Fox ventured into new territory with Deadpool - an R-rated comedy starring Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson. It was incredibly well received by critics and fans alike and became the top grossing X-Men film ever. Not too long after, Fox announced plans for Deadpool 2 as well as a third movie starring the Merc with a Mouth that’s likely the upcoming X-Force film.

Although little is known about the plot of Deadpool 2, it’s confirmed that Wade Wilson will be teaming up with fellow Marvel Comics heroes Nathan Summers aka Cable, who has yet to be cast, as well as Domino. Earlier today, Reynolds - who is a producer on the sequel in addition to starring - announced Atlanta actress Zazie Beetz was cast as Domino in Deadpool 2. Now, new fan art imagines what she’ll look like in the role.

Graphic artist BossLogic, who has become well known for his work imagining fan castings or rumored castings for DC and Marvel superhero movies, debuted his new piece on Twitter with Beetz suited up as Domino. Based on the bottom right corner of the artwork, the scene BossLogic imagines is after Domino and Deadpool have a disagreement that will leave the Merc with a Mouth with a headache. Take a look:

Considering how successful Deadpool was at the box office and among fans, its followup is one of the most highly anticipated superhero films to hit theaters in the coming years. Additionally, Marvel Comics fans have been hoping to see Cable and Domino join Fox’s X-Men universe for many years. As a result, rumors and reports surrounding the casting of both Cable and Domino have come out steadily in recent months. Prior to the annoucement of Beetz joining Deadpool 2, Hidden Figures’ Janelle Monáe and Scandal’s Kerry Washington were rumored to be frontrunners for the role.

Meanwhile, speculation concerning who will land the role of Cable has abounded. Early reports indicated Bloodline’s Kyle Chandler was eyed for Cable - and rumors about this particular casting claimed it was the reason for Deadpool director Tim Miller’s departure, though he later refuted it. The latest report is that Stranger Things’ David Harbour tested for Cable, which would indicate he’s the current frontrunner, though nothing official has been announced. Other actors who seemed to be potential candidates include Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, and Pierce Brosnan.

After Miller’s departure, Fox tapped John Wick co-director David Leitch to helm Deadpool 2, which will see the return of Deadpool screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with The Martian’s Drew Goddard helping with the script. Of course, as of yet it’s unclear how Miller’s departure and Goddard being brought on board will affect Deadpool 2, or how different the sequel will be from the first film. But, with Beetz cast as Domino - and BossLogic’s art giving fans an idea of how she’ll look in the role - it seems fans may have something to get excited about. Now, it seems Fox is moving forward on Deadpool 2 and news of further developments could be right around the corner.
