One of the listed special features on the upcoming Blu-ray release of Deadpool 2 hints at the inclusion of classic X-Men villain Omega Red. The character has never appeared in any of the X-Men franchise films thus far, but it seems that he might possibly have a cameo in the extended “Super Duper” cut of Deadpool 2.

Omega Red is commonly associated with Wolverine, being one of Logan’s greatest enemies. Despite this, he never appeared in any of the Wolverine solo films. The villain is only slightly connected to Deadpool in the way that they both have a past with the Weapon X program. Given that Deadpool 2 already featured a sizeable cast, it makes sense that Omega Red’s planned inclusion in the film might have failed to make the theatrical cut. Thankfully, since a “Super Duper Cut” was announced with up to 15 minutes of additional footage, fans may get a taste of Omega Red after all.

Collider shared a breakdown of special features included on the Blu-ray release of Deadpool 2. Standing out prominently on the list is a segment entitled “Chess With Omega Red.” Just exactly what that means is unclear, but it could indicate that originally Omega Red had a cameo in the film that was ultimately cut.

One scene in the film features a maximum security prison for mutants called the “Ice Box,” where The Juggernaut was being held. It’s possible that the “Chess With Omega Red” segment could be a deleted scene set at the prison. It’s worth noting, however, that the “Chess” segment is listed separately from Deadpool 2’s deleted scenes in the features breakdown. It could be that the segment is something else entirely, although it seems odd to use the character’s name in the title of the piece if it doesn’t in fact include him.

Aside from Omega Red implications, Deadpool 2’s home release will include a huge number of bonus features. Typical featurettes like a gag reel and alt takes made the list, along with an inside look at the easter eggs in the film, of which there were many. Some fun additions are an interview with director David Leitch, and “Deadpool’s Fun Sack 2.” The “Fun Sack” from the first film’s Blu-ray rounded up all the trailers and marketing gags, so the sequel will likely follow suit there. Attendees at SDCC will have the chance to attend an exclusive screening of the Deadpool 2 extended cut, but most audiences will be able to catch it when the Super Duper Cut releases on August 7 digitally and August 21 on Blu-ray and DVD.
