Warner Bros.’ Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been a divisive movie, though its $785+ million global box office shows that it’s still performing decently in spite of the critics. Though it wasn’t the billion-dollar hit in theaters that the studio likely hoped it would be, its performance has been solid enough that the rest of the DC Extended Universe is still moving forward as planned.

One of the big upcoming parts of the DCEU are the two planned Justice League films, the first of which was scheduled to begin filming this week. While those behind the scenes are eager to point out the successes of Batman V Superman, they’re also happy to discuss how amazing Justice League - Part 1 is going to be.

According to Variety, the Warner Bros. presentation on the DCEU at CinemaCon focused largely on Wonder Woman, the positives of Batman V Superman and how it all ties together in Justice League. The presentation talked about how Batman V Superman provided “the first real taste of this expanding universe” to fans, with production chief Greg Silverman adding, “It’s exciting for the fans to see how interconnected all these universes are.” DC Entertainment chief creative officer Geoff Johns commented on the expanding universe as well, highlighting Justice League in particular as a big step forward and how “bringing [the DC superheroes] on screen together is seismic.”

Meanwhile, the stars of Justice League are hard at work making sure that they’re in the proper shape for the film. Separate social media posts from stars Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, and Ray Fisher show off portions of their Justice League workout routines. It’s interesting to note that each star seems to be taking a different approach to training, possibly to help make sure that their muscles are developed in different ways that would be appropriate to the characters they’re playing. Cavill’s Superman would likely have all-over development, while Momoa’s Aquaman might have slightly sleeker lines (along with powerful arms and legs) due to a life underwater. Fisher’s Cyborg will have at least some of his physique hidden behind make-up and/or CGI, but before his transformation the character was an athlete, so weight training wouldn’t be out of the question.

Despite some rumors to the contrary, Batman V Superman director Zack Snyder is still directing Justice League - Part 1. Warner Bros. execs are supposedly keeping a closer eye on production, though, so the end result may be a bit different than what fans are expecting from Snyder. Regardless of whether the studio wants to rein Snyder in or not, though, those in the film seem committed to bringing the Justice League together at last.
